Information Regarding BlueBorne
Last week Armis, an enterprise IoT security company, revealed a new attack vector called “BlueBorne” endangering major mobile, desktop, and IoT operating systems. The BlueBorne attack vector can be used to conduct a large range of offenses, including remote code execution. VIZpin has evaluated the eight vulnerabilities identified as the BlueBorne attack vector, and we have confirmed that our Bluetooth System Controllers are not affected by these vulnerabilities.
Armis reported these vulnerabilities to the responsible actors such as Google, Microsoft and Apple, and is working with them as patches are being identified and released. VIZpin recommends, in alignment with all major phone carriers, that users continually keep their device updated with the latest security patches and operating software. If a user is unable to update the latest releases for some reason, it is recommended that Bluetooth is turned off when not in use.
